Middle Grade/Young Adult Fantasy - Good Books

I was asked what Young Adult or Middle Grade Fantasy Books that I have recently read and liked. This is what I came up with in no particular order:


•       Artemis Fowl – Eoin Colfer – LOVE THIS SERIES!! (And yes, I shouted that because these books are worth shouting about).
•       Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus - Rick Riordan
•       Kane Chronicles – Rick Riordan
•       The Hobbit – JRR Tolkien
•       Chronicles of Narnia – C.S. Lewis
•       Harry Potter – JK Rowling
•       Magnus Chase – Rick Riordan
•       Magician – Raymond E Feist. – Could be young adult or adult
•       Lord of the Rings – All three books by JRR Tolkien. – Could be young adult or adult.

•       Daughter of the Empire (Servant of… Mistress of…) Raymond E Feist and Janny Wurts – Again could be young adult or adult.

For kids fantasy, the Artemis Fowl series is great fun. The life changing journey of a wicked genius kid who manages to contact (and wreak havoc in) the fairy world. The ensuing adventures are entertaining for all ages. One of my favourite series for middle-grade. Another author who influenced my writing in The Ruby Key series for middle-grade kids. I'm hoping to release Book 1 - The Shadow Village this year.

Horses for courses. ·         Pros:     o    So many books available, wherever you are, whatever mood you are in. o    Books are relatively cheap if you buy them from somewhere like Amazon. o    Extremely easy to inspect a book, and to buy it and download it. You can have your book in seconds. o    Great to read on an electronic device. You can set your text size, background colour, light-dark, font type, etc. o    You can read in bed whilst your partner sleeps, without the light on! o    You can still read paper books. Reading some books on your e-device doesn’t stop you also reading paper books. o    On Amazon, you can keep your eye out for 99c books and free books. Even the most popular books will have specials, deals where the price is dropped, or even free promotions. ·         Cons:            o    If you are camping in the bush with no power, your book can suddenly run out of charge. o    It hurts a lot more if you fall as

Mandalorian

Finished re-watching Mandalorian. It was just as good the second time through. I can't believe how many things I picked up that I missed the first time through! I love to re-read books too, and often notice the same thing.  Thank you to the international person who put the latest 5 star rating on my newest book/series release. If you like fantasy adventure, you might enjoy the Daoine Maithe series of 4 books. It's a great read, fast paced with captivating characters with interesting abilities.
